I grew up playing in a punk/ska band, listening to fat wreck bands, the casualties, hellcat records, face to face and tons more. Once my band broke up I needed a lifestyle change and joined the military shortly after. I bought a cheap acoustic guitar and most of the songs you hear are from when I was enlisted. I didnt have a band and started to drum breakbeats on my acoustic along to a reggae chop. I called this Run, since running is what I like to do. . . Since I was always moving around and traveling alot, I kept things simple. My sound came from whatever I could get my hands on. Most of the time I'd use a bucket for drums, pots and pans, guitars, whistling and melodica. The name Fretwide was going to be the band name for when I went home on holidays to open for local bands. Friends and I would just jam out to a thrashy ska/punk riff and freestyle songs. My style influences street/punk/ska /reggae/ hiphop / soul. bands that influenced me are op iv, slightly stoopid, milllencolin, strung out, face to face, lagwagon, joey cape, the clash, joe strummer, and myself. My songs have been featured in skate videos on youtube, on collegehumor . com, internet radio stations, college radio and had numerous videos online. I took down all music, videos and sites because of the attention. And Im now putting things back up because you guys keep asking for songs. Thank you.
